FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Please feel free to email us any questions you may have here.

What is the benefit to me of using your service?

The bottom line is that it is the simplest, quickest way to get top value for your items short of doing it all yourself. Our experience and eBay feedback generate buyer confidence and generally result in higher final prices at auction close. In this sense we pay a portion of our own commission.

Are there any fees beside your commission?

No. The buyer pays for shipping and we pay all other fees out of our commission.

If I have one item that sells for $200 and one that sells for $2000, do you calculate the commission individually?

Yes - and we can negotiate discounts for larger projects.

How long do auctions last?

You can choose the duration of the auction. We recommend the 7 day format as it is proven over time to be the most successful.

Are there better days than others for starting auctions?

You can choose the start day and time. There are many theories and statistics surrounding this issue. Internet auctions have seasonal cycles, holiday cycles, and daily cycles just like any other sales. We list some items to start in the evening hours so that from coast to coast people are awake and in leisure time. Some professional items are best sold during business hours. We list all items at the appropriate day/time for the genre. If your item is in high demand it is generally not affected by the cycles.

How do you determine the opening bid price?

You choose that yourself. There is a balance between getting the auction process going and the risk of not getting the final price you hoped for. We will research the sale of all similar items that have recently closed and offer you the best information we can. Our rule of thumb is to decide for yourself what the least amount of money you will be happy with and start it there.

What if my item doesn't sell?

This does happen. It is good information in the end to see the real amount of money people will spend for an item. We will re-list the item for you at no charge if you wish and let it run another week. You also have the option of lowering the opening bid for a re-listing. If you decide to terminate the auction and not re-list, there will be a $25 fee for the time we invested in photographing, listing and responding to inquires. You will also be responsible for the eBay listing fees.

Will I be able to follow the auction and confirm the sale price for myself?

We can email you the link to your auction and you can watch and enjoy the entire process. It is exciting during a good auction. We can also print and provide auction documentation on request.

Do I have to leave my items with you during the auction? Are they safe?

For convenience reasons most people prefer to leave their items in our care. We can be flexible to suit your preference. If you choose to retain possession of the items yourself there will be a written agreement to ensure the item is available at auction close. eBay is a legally binding contract that is enforced. Since we are the broker - we are the responsible party. It also hurts our feedback. There will be a $100 fee for items not available at auction close or auctions closed during the normal duration of the auction. Yes, your item will be safe in our care - we will discuss item security in person with clients only.
